Our commitment
At Jet Plant, we have a mission to set the standard for sustainability within the road planing industry through innovation. Throughout the business, we are always looking to make conscious and considered effort to reduce emissions, and to help contribute positively to our customers ever increasing sustainability targets.
We have therefore made some commitments to support this priority through our ongoing Environmental strategy:
Well to Wheel reduction in CO2 emissions by 50% per shift
Fossil fuel usage at a maximum of 50% of fuel usage
2% fuel reduction through operational efficiencies
All new company cars to be fully electric vehicles
All utilities sourced from renewable carbon neutral providers
Fuelling Innovation
One of the biggest contributors to reducing our overall emissions is to fuel our existing fleet, plus any new machines on Hydro Treated Vegetable Oil (HVO), and we now have the facility to fuel our machines before they leave for a project from our regional hire centres.
Through the use of HVO, we can drastically reduce the overall carbon emissions of our machines, but high quality performance remains the same as ever.
Road Planings
At Jet, we treat road planings as construction waste, which means we strictly adhere to all regulatory standards. Our dedicated team ensures every customer remains fully compliant, holding the correct waste exemption or permit, using planings for approved purposes, and maintaining complete traceability.
We guarantee that all movements of planings are accompanied by the required waste transfer note or consignment note, with continuous monitoring for quality and legal compliance.
100% Recycling Commitment
Every ton of planings—both non-tarbound and tarbound—is recycled. This reduces waste, conserves natural resources, and diverts material away from landfill. Instead, planings are repurposed by local businesses or processed into new materials at asphalt plants.
We focus on minimizing travel distances from site to tip, reducing vehicle emissions and keeping your project efficient. Our fleet of 8-wheel Tridem tippers offers the same manoeuvrability as six-wheelers but with a significantly higher payload.
For every 100 tons of planings, a Tridem tipper makes five trips instead of six, meaning:
Reduced CO₂ emissions
Fewer HGV movements
Less time away from site
Our goal is simple: operate efficiently for both the environment and your bottom line. We don’t just provide a service—we deliver a compliant, cost-effective solution.
As waste management regulations tighten, Jet is committed to educating and supporting customers to stay ahead of industry requirements.
