Motorway and Highway Maintenance

As specialist road planers, with almost 40 years’ experience in partnering with leading motorway maintenance companies, our teams work in collaboration with your to ensure the project runs to plan.

Our process is simple

Most motorway planing contracts are carried out overnight to avoid traffic disruption and the safest conditions for the teams.

With a fleet of heavy-duty planing machines, such as the 2.2M planer and the 1M planers we can provide the highest productivity and best CO2 performance, delivered from our Wirtgen planers, packed with innovation and technology.

These machines are ideal for large-scale projects, such as motorway or highway maintenance that requires high outputs within very tight deadlines.

Sustainable Transport & Services

We need several other vehicles during motorway planing and this is something Jet also provide as part of the contract:

Low loader

to transport the road planer to and from the site or to move the machine around the site if required.

Tippers

required to collect material from the machine elevator and to take-off site.

Sweepers

these are required to sweep the milled surface after the planer

Water bowser

used to re-fill the planer with water if required.

Sustainable and Safe Delivery

We integrate sustainability into every stage of delivery. All planed material is recycled via licensed and authorized tips. Our fleet of low-emission vehicles combined with minimized trip journey planning helps reduce carbon impact. This approach helps our customers meet, compliance, environmental targets while maintaining operational excellence.

To further support our standards we have a robust ESG process that means all of our teams and equipment on site achieve the very best in safe and sustainable delivery.

of drivers meet the target of under 10 hours idling per month. 97% of drivers achieved less than 20 hours of idling per month
of drivers achieve our target performance score. (HGV drivers achieving a performance score of ≥85 / Van drivers achieving a performance score of <1.2 events per 100km, based on braking, acceleration, drive line utilisation, over revving, and more.)
Our lowest-performing drivers improved significantly following SAFED (Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving) training provided by internal SAFED driver trainers
Acquired 8-wheel tridem lorries resulting in 16% fewer trips to the tip, which averages 5.6 miles each way
