Sustainable Road Planing experts for almost 40 years

Jet Plant was started in 1989 with one, one metre planer working for three months on the Isle of Wight and the founder of the business, Stuart, drove the planer for the first week as the scheduled driver was on leave as his wife was having a baby.

The company was formed working from a spare room in the roof of the family home, but outgrown fairly quickly and in 1994 the first year at Badsey Road was purchased.

During the 10 years in business we Jet grew quickly and in 2004 we bought Tetlaw from National Road Planers which expanded our fleet to include 2m planers and offer our services to larger national planning contractors.

1989

Humble beginnings

Jet began in 1989 with a single one-metre planer operating on the Isle of Wight.

1994

Badsey Road

From humble beginnings in a spare room, the company quickly expanded, acquiring its first yard on Badsey Road in 1994 with an office in the workshop, and later moving into the house that came with it to give a dedicated office space.

2004

Tetlaw

In 2004, Jet purchased Tetlaw from National Road Planing, entering markets that required  utilised larger planers. This strategic move led to the acquisition of our own two-metre planers, strengthening the company’s competitive edge across all the sectors of our industry.

2009

Vale Park

A major milestone came in 2009 with the purchase of purpose-built offices and workshops at Vale Park. This transformation elevated operations, improved efficiency, and marked the start of a new era of professionalism.

2026

Today

Today, Jet operates nationally with strongholds across the South of England, the Midlands, and Yorkshire. With a modern fleet of 31 Wirtgen planers, we are providing a greener option as all planers operate on HVO fuels.  This supports our drive and commitment to deliver industry leading sustainable operations.

Jet Plant stands proud as one of the largest road planing companies in the UK, committed to safety, innovation and sustainability.
